sistermarymartha: I saw an incredible show tonight, a retrospective of Philadelphia native Barkley Hendricks’ work titled, The Birth of Cool.

This piece is a memorial for Fela Kuti, each pair of shoes represents one of Fela’s wives.

The shoes are a nice touch to the piece. They seem to be an addition for this exhibition.
